Close to 78 Civil Air Patrol Cadets and Senior Members from the Upper Midwest and the Central Plains meet in Sioux Falls this weekend for the North Central Region Cadet Honor Academy. The Cadet Honor Academy prepares cadets to serve on color guards while furthering their individual character development and drug-free knowledge.

South Dakota Wing has temporarily exchanged N832CP for a Kansas Wing aircraft, N524CP. Kansas Wing benefits from the exchange because N832CP, a C182T, can tow the KSWG glider. South Dakota Wing benefits because N524CP, also a 182T, has an advanced G1000 NXi system.

At least 24 cadets received orientation flights on 15 sorties during the annual South Dakota Wing Aerospace Education Day August 20 in Onida, SD. The event also included experiences with multi-engine model rocketry, small search drones, and a range of other aerospace and STEM activities.
