South Dakota Wing will hold its annual conference April 9. Plans call for the event to be held at the K Bar S Lodge, near Keystone, S.D.

Members of South Dakota Wing excelled during the 2021 Kansas Wing Winter Encampment December 26 – January 2.  Nine South Dakota members attended, eight from Sioux Falls Composite Squadron and one from Lincoln County Composite Squadron.

The Big Sioux Composite Squadron, Lincoln County Composite Squadron, and Sioux Falls Composite Squadron hosted their holiday parties in December.

Pierre Composite Squadron hosted an open house at the American Legion in Pierre Tuesday evening (12/21)

 South Dakota Wing is mourning Capt. Neil Schmid, who died in Arizona December 19.  

Two squadrons in South Dakota Wing were responsible for over 450 wreaths for the graves of veterans.  The wreaths were placed in separate ceremonies on the national Wreaths Across America day, Saturday, December 18.

Big Sioux Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, recently received a $3,000 check resulting from planned fundraising at SDSU football games this fall.

Nine members of South Dakota Wing, eight from Sioux Falls Composite Squadron and one from Lincoln County Composite Squadron are headed for the Kansas Wing Winter Encampment December 26 through January 2.

Civil Air Patrol National Headquarters has awarded three members of South Dakota Wing, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), disaster relief ribbons for their efforts in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

Members of three South Dakota Wing squadrons along I-29, and wing staff members at multiple operating locations, met on the air for a communications exercise Saturday, December 11.
