South Dakota Wing, Civil Air Patrol, will hold a state-wide training exercise Saturday, March 12. It will be a distributed Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) with operating bases with local ground and air sorties coordinated from an Incident Command Post in Sioux Falls.

The training will include a series of scenario-based tasks for ground team, aircrew, and mission base training, with members participating from all of South Dakota Wing’s eight units, known as squadrons.

Big Sioux Composite Squadron held a mini-SAREX on October 16. The training, in part, was to prepare for a later wing SAREX Nov 6. The event included cadets and senior members, including new cadets without uniforms.
