CAP Supports Air Guard Homeland Security Training on 9-11 Anniversary
A South Dakota Wing, CAP aircrew marked the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks by performing a Homeland Security mission for the South Dakota Air National Guard’s 175th Fighter Squadron.
Nearly three dozen dedicated members of South Dakota Wing, representing all squadrons plus wing staff, participated in an intensive Emergency Services Academy aimed at enhancing their emergency response skills.
A diverse group of 25 CAP members from across the country learned about leading the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program during a day-long online class on Sunday, January 28.
SDWG members gathered in Sioux Falls on October 14 for continuing training for CAP’s operational mission training.
South Dakota Wing of Civil Air Patrol will gather in Brookings and Spearfish Saturday (July 15) to practice search and rescue and disaster response photography skills with aircraft, drones, and ground teams.
72 members signed in for the May SAREX, making it one of the biggest SDWG SAREX events in recent memory. Primary mission activity was May 20 in Sioux Falls. Of the total signed in to the mission, 20 participated in the earlier Wing Cave horse search training on the same SAREX mission number.
Close to 70 South Dakota Wing members exercised their winter operational mission skills on Saturday January 14.
Sixteen members of Civil Air Patrol’s South Dakota Wing gathered last week for a Training Leaders of Cadets, Basic, a required class for adult members who lead the organization’s youth program, known as the cadet program.
