SD Wing Cadet Becomes Private Pilot

Cadet 1st Lt. Byron Wengert of Lincoln County Composite Squadron became a private pilot this month with a national CAP "Cadet Wings" scholarship.

Cadet Wings is a competitive program for outstanding youth members. It provides financial support, guidance in constructing and adhering to a personalized flight plan, assigning a mentor, conducting periodic assessments to determine progress in the program, and evaluating the quality of instruction. As a result, Cadet Wings puts the participant  on a path to success.

Cadet Wengert previously received a SD Wing scholarship for his solo flight.
