South Dakota Members Receive National Commander’s Awards

South Dakota Wing’s Col. Mary Donley and Lt. Col. Mark Huntington have received awards from outgoing CAP national commander Maj. Gen. Mark Smith.

As one of General Smith’s last official actions before leaving office last month, he approved a number of awards in recognition of outstanding service by members serving on the National Staff, as a part of special working groups/projects, and special activities.

Col. Donley received two national Commander’s Commendations, one for serving as a staff member for the 2020 National Staff College and one for her work on CAP’s Volunteer University online educational platform.

Lt. Col. Huntington received an Exceptional Service Award for his work on CAP’s National Health Services/COVID working group.

The awards were announced to region and wing commanders by Susie Parker, National Headquarters director of personnel and member actions. Award elements have been sent to the individual members.
