Rushmore Hosts Sailplane Program

SM Jeffrey Banks from CAP's Birchwood Composite Squadron of Eagle River, Alaska, brought his sailplane (a Silent Electro 2) for display at Rushmore Composite Squadron during a recent meeting and spoke about the sailplane program.
Banks is active in the CAP glider program. His youngest son is on the CAP glider poster, and his oldest son, MSgt Chris Banks, is a member of Rushmore Composite Squadron. Chris is an active-duty drone systems operator stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
The sailplane wingspan is 45 feet.
Because it was a cold, windy day, the sailplane was brought inside the squadron meeting place for the program.
