Joint AE/ES Academy Successful
The SD Wing combined aerospace education and emergency services academy August 21-23 was filled with accomplishments:

41 cadet orientation flights were performed over the weekend.

22 cadets earned sUAS (drone) awards and 11 earned basic STEM badges. Eleven more made progress on their STEM badge requirements

12 members completed introductory communications users training
-
Many ground team and radio direction-finding training tasks were completed

All were fascinated by meet astronaut Fred Haise
-
The weekend ended with a successful line search for a real missing phone
Everyone reported a high enjoyment factor, making the combined academy a big success.
