CAP Major Ben Shafer assumed command of Lincoln County Composite Squadron April 2, in a change of command ceremony during the squadron meeting at Great Planes Airport, Tea.

Lt. Brett Runge assumed command of Lookout Mountain Composite Squadron March 7 during a change of command ceremony at the squadron headquarters building in Spearfish.

Capt Jon Becker assumed command of Pierre Composite Squadron this week during a change of command ceremony at the squadron headquarters. Due to weather travel safety concerns, Col Michael Marek, SD Wing Commander, conducted the change of command ceremony via Internet video.

Cadet 2^nd Lieutenant Lydia Klosterman, of Brandon, is the new cadet commander of Civil Air Patrol (CAP)’s Big Sioux Composite Squadron, following a change of command ceremony on Thursday, January 20, 2022, held at the Brookings Airport. Colonel Michael Marek, South Dakota Wing’s Commander, participated in the ceremony and fielded questions from squadron members afterward.

Civil Air Patrol North Central Region Commander Col. John O’Neill has named Lt. Col. Michael Marek to be the next state commander of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in South Dakota. Marek succeeds Col. Nick Gengler.
