CAP Supports Air Guard Homeland Security Training on 9-11 Anniversary
A South Dakota Wing, CAP aircrew marked the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks by performing a Homeland Security mission for the South Dakota Air National Guard’s 175th Fighter Squadron.


Civil Air Patrol’s South Dakota Wing played a crucial part in South Dakota Air National Guard 114th Fighter Wing aerial intercept training March 16.
South Dakota Wing, Civil Air Patrol, recently assisted the South Dakota Air National Guard’s 114th Fighter Wing’s training for intercepting small aircraft. The training took place during the evening and night of January 25 over southcentral South Dakota.
One of the services South Dakota Wing, CAP, provides to the South Dakota Air National Guard is low-level route surveys. The surveys check the training routes the guard uses, as a safety precaution, to check for new towers or other obstructions the guard aircraft might encounter.
